Our Guest Gloria Perez-Stewart Gloria Perez-Stewart is a non-attorney advocate who works nationally to protect the civil rights of children with disabilities through her service, GPS Advocacy. She is also a trained community organizer and the founder of Latina Mami, a grassroots group by and for Latina mothers. Gloria has been recognized for her grassroots efforts by progressive foundations, Latina Magazine, Univision, and her work has been written about in academic feminist journals. In addition to organizing for Latina Mami, Gloria has been an organizer for American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), One-LA, and National Council of La Raza. Gloria has organized groups of parents for class action lawsuits against their school districts for the School to Prison Pipeline Project and has also worked for Disability Rights Texas and Cirkiel and Associates Law Firm as a special education advocate. She's a remarried mother to a teen with autism and writes about co-parenting a child with disabilities with her ex-husband at DivorcingAutism.net.
